Like most of JOEY management, CEO Jeff Fuller started his remarkable journey flipping burgers, washing dishes and sweeping floors. It’s called paying your dues, learning from the ground up and understanding what success takes.
“If there’s a secret,” he says, “it’s hard work, unwavering commitment to the customer and assembling the very best people.” Jeff absorbed valuable lessons from his family’s successful businesses before striking out on his own with a brand new concept in upscale casual restaurants.
The first JOEY opened in 1992 and, as word spread, plans for a second location were quickly in the works. Today there are 30 JOEY Restaurants across Vancouver, Kelowna, Calgary, Edmonton, Winnipeg, Toronto, Seattle, California and Texas.
Our model isn’t to repeat formulas but create spaces perfectly suited to the locale and its clientele. Each JOEY restaurant is unique, but they all have plenty in common: great food, lively environments, exceptional dining experiences.
A server assistant, also known as a busser, is a restaurant employee who assists food servers in providing prompt and polite service to their guests. Server assistants are responsible for the preparation of tables for their arriving guests at the same time to help deliver food to tables when the food servers are busy.
Server assistants, who are also called assistant servers, are people who help hosts and servers in restaurants, and are an integral part of a restaurant’s staff. The job description of a server assistant involves removing the dirty glassware, silverware, and plates after use by guests.
Everything else left on the table by the guests must also be removed. After doing this, they will have to rearrange the table in conformity with the in-house standards of the restaurant, by setting up plates, glasses, and any new utensils that have been left there before the table was used.
