Cartage Agent – A carrier that performs pickup or delivery in areas that the trucking company does not service themselves. Freight is in the possession of Cartage Agent, not the trucking company. Cartage agents use their own paperwork while transporting the shipment.

Cartage is a term meaning the transportation of goods over a short distance, such as within a commercial area or town.  A cartage service fee applies to this type of service because a smaller truck or van is used to deliver the goods. FreightCenter does not offer cartage services options.
